The Passion of Shavon

Although she holds a B.A. degree in Mass Communications and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Shavon’s strongest credentials ultimately dwell in the resume of her real-life experiences.

From an early age, Shavon has unfortunately witnessed and/or have experienced many degrees of abuse, depression, emotional and physical pain, heartache, and life-shattering events.  With the absence of her father and the demands of a single-working mother, Shavon learned the meaning of standing on your own two feet and began to understand the essence of sacrifice.  From then until now she has set on the front row of situations resulting in child molestation, suicide, substance abuse, mental disorders, and more.

Shavon’s passion for speaking and inspiring others is molded by her testimonies of struggle and triumph. However, it wasn’t until 2007 when Shavon recognized the divine element of her purpose. A close classmate, uncle, cousin, a best friend and her one and only brother, Sidney, all died in that same year.  The loss of these significant individuals was the start toward finding the true value and meaning of life itself. From sharing her stories of success and perseverance, to her father’s death, her mother’s health and her personal battle with physical challenges, Shavon speaks with hope, victory, and compassion to the heart of every human-being and provides nourishment to the soul of who we are and our reason for being.    Shavon’s reason….is to Echo-Luv.
